Description
This 50WCE042 is a nominal 3.5-ton vertical water source heat pump intended for buildings that use a managed water loop or geothermal exchange. WSHP zoning is a common fit for multi-tenant properties because each zone can heat or cool independently while the building loop absorbs and redistributes heat as conditions change. The refrigerant circuit uses R-454B.
The left-return, top-discharge vertical arrangement supports side filter access and front-left water connections, helping maintain consistency in replacement and retrofit planning. The option package is oriented toward durability and compliance: coated air coil selection, cupronickel coaxial heat exchanger selection, A2L leak detection, and the sound/IAQ package that combines a compressor blanket with closed-cell foam insulation. These are the kinds of selections that reduce risk in buildings where water quality, corrosion exposure, and occupant noise expectations are all in play.
Published AHRI/ANSI 13256-1 tables show the ECM category for size 042 at 40,100 BTU/h cooling and 46,500 BTU/h heating at water-loop rated conditions. Confirm loop temperatures and minimum flow, along with airflow/static pressure assumptions, to ensure the selected size performs as expected through seasonal shifts.
