The Brand Story

AireVantage: A Value Line Born Behind a Florida Supply Counter

Most heating and cooling brands start in a factory. AireVantage started at the supply counter. It is the value line of Gemaire Distributors, one of Florida's largest residential air conditioning distributors, created for a very South Florida reality: systems that run hard nearly all year, homeowners watching every dollar, and contractors who need dependable equipment they can install the same day. The idea was simple. Put proven components in a straightforward package and back it with a warranty a contractor can explain at the kitchen table.

Chapter 1 · 1989

Gemaire joins Watsco

The story of AireVantage runs through Gemaire. In 1989 Watsco, a Florida company, paid $17 million for an 80 percent stake in Gemaire, then described as one of the state's largest residential air conditioning distributors, with the manufacturer Rheem holding the remaining 20 percent. For Watsco the deal marked a turning point, the beginning of its shift from manufacturing into distribution.

Watsco went on to become one of the largest HVAC distribution businesses in the country, reporting 673 locations and about 7,300 employees in 2022, all still run from its headquarters in Miami. Gemaire remained one of its Florida-based operations, serving contractors across the region.

Chapter 2 · The idea

Better value, built from familiar parts

Gemaire positions AireVantage as its value choice, aimed at budget-conscious homeowners who still want efficient, reliable equipment. The design choices follow from that. Every AireVantage condenser comes standard with a Copeland scroll compressor, one of the most widely serviced compressor families in the industry, and the matching air handlers use microchannel coils in a compact, lightweight cabinet that can be installed upflow, downflow or horizontal.

The Lineup

What AireVantage builds today

AireVantage covers the essential pieces of a ducted split system: outdoor condensers and heat pumps, indoor air handlers and electric heat. HVAC365 carries:

  • Air conditioner condensers: single-stage condensers rated 14.3 SEER2 and built for R-454B refrigerant, from the family Gemaire lists as the USA4BE5 series.
  • Heat pump condensers: 14.3 SEER2 heat pumps on R-454B, listed by Gemaire as the USH4BE5 series, for homes that heat and cool with one outdoor unit.
  • Multi-position air handlers: B65 series air handlers with PSC blower motors and microchannel coils, starting at 1.5 tons. See all air handlers.
  • Electric heat: 5 kW and larger heat strips designed for B65E series air handlers.
  • Central split systems: AireVantage condensers and heat pumps paired with matching air handlers.
The Promise

A warranty built for the contractor's conversation

According to Gemaire, registered AireVantage equipment carries a 10-year limited parts warranty. If the compressor fails within the first year, the outdoor unit is replaced in full, provided the system is paired with an AireVantage indoor coil, air handler or gas furnace. The warranty certificate for each model sets the final terms.
