Hybrid Gas Electric Split Systems

Hybrid Gas Electric Split Systems

Hybrid gas electric split systems, also called dual fuel systems, pair an electric heat pump with a gas furnace and a matched evaporator coil. The heat pump handles all of the cooling and most of the heating, and the gas furnace takes over when outdoor temperatures fall below the balance point you set on the thermostat.

The result is efficient electric heat on mild days and strong gas heat on the coldest nights, with one system that chooses the right fuel for the conditions. Every Goodman hybrid system on HVAC365 is an AHRI-certified match, with the reference number, SEER2, EER2 and HSPF2 ratings listed on the product page.

What you'll find here

  • Goodman R-32 heat pump, gas furnace and coil systems from 1.5 to 5 tons
  • 80%, 92%, 96% and 97% AFUE furnaces in single-stage, two-stage and modulating designs
  • Upflow and downflow configurations with cased upflow/downflow or horizontal coils
  • Spec sheets, installation manuals and warranty documents for every component

Is a dual fuel system right for you?

Dual fuel makes the most sense where winters get cold enough that a heat pump alone loses capacity, and where natural gas or propane is available. Your installer sets the switchover temperature based on local electricity and gas prices, so you heat with whichever fuel costs less at the time.
