AireVantage B65VMMX24K-B is a variable-speed, multi-position air handler built to make a split system feel smoother, quieter, and more “even” across the house. This is the indoor unit that decides how your comfort actually lands: airflow stability, humidity pull-down, and whether rooms feel balanced or constantly chasing the thermostat. It’s designed for SEER2 residential systems and pairs with either an AireVantage heat pump or air conditioner.
The variable-speed ECM motor is the core upgrade here. It provides 16 field-selectable cooling airflows and automatically sets heating airflow based on the amount of installed electric heat, while also maintaining constant airflow by adjusting to different static loads. In real terms, that means fewer hot/cold swings, less air stratification, and better humidity removal and filtration performance when the duct system isn’t perfect. Blower operation is designed to be extra quiet and smooth on start/stop, which matters when the air handler sits near living space.
B65VMMX24K-B is also built for durability and long-term serviceability. The cabinet is galvanized steel with a polyurethane finish rated to endure 950 hours of salt spray and resist corrosion better than comparable units, plus a plastic drain pan for corrosion resistance. It includes a factory-installed externally equalized TXV for precise refrigerant control under varying load, 1-inch insulation (R-value 4.2) to support quieter operation and reduce cabinet sweating, and an all-aluminum coil for high corrosion resistance. This model uses a B-cabinet footprint and supports a built-in filter rack to keep routine maintenance straightforward.
