Comfortstar Star Pro 2.5 Ton Inverter Heat Pump Split System (CSS30CD(O) + ASH30SG32)
This is a complete, AHRI matched Star Pro heat pump system from Comfortstar: the CSS30CD(O) side-discharge inverter condenser and the ASH30SG32 multi-position air handler, both running on R-32. Together they are rated at 30,000 BTU/h cooling, 31,000 BTU/h heating, 17 SEER2, 11.2 EER2 and 8.5 HSPF2 under AHRI certificate 217752511.
The condenser uses an inverter twin rotary compressor that speeds up and slows down with the load, so the system holds temperature more evenly, pulls more moisture out of the air in humid weather and runs quietly (56 dBA outdoors). It heats down to -4°F and still produces about 23,500 BTU/h at 5°F. The side-discharge cabinet is compact for a 2.5 ton unit at 37 63/64" wide, 31 57/64" tall and 15 3/4" deep, which helps on side yards, rooftops and tight replacement jobs.
Indoors, the ASH30SG32 installs upflow, downflow or horizontal in either direction. Its constant torque ECM blower delivers 950 CFM on high and adjusts to hold airflow as filters load up. Both units run on ordinary 24V heat pump controls, so no proprietary thermostat is needed, and Comfortstar designed the system to reuse existing R-410A line sets and wiring in most change-outs.
