Description
Grandaire 3 Ton WJA5 Packaged Air Conditioner: WJA536000K000B
The WJA536000K000B is a 3-ton single-packaged air conditioner from Grandaire's WJA5 line. The compressor, both coils, the indoor blower and the controls all live in one cabinet that sits on a pad outside, with horizontal supply and return connections that run straight into the house. That makes it the go-to replacement for manufactured homes, slab homes with no room for an indoor air handler, and light commercial spaces.
It runs on R-454B refrigerant and is rated at 13.4 SEER2 and 11.05 EER2. A built-in dissipation system addresses the A2L refrigerant safety requirements.
What stands out
- Composite basepan with integrated drain pan that will not rust out like a steel base, and a sloped drain pan that limits standing water.
- Same 32 x 51 in. footprint across the line, so pads and curbs are easy to plan.
- Side-by-side duct connections that accept round or rectangular duct.
- Pre-painted steel cabinet with a louvered coil enclosure that guards against hail and vandalism.
- Service access from the front and side, with refrigerant service connections for checking pressures.
- Direct-drive multispeed indoor blower and PSC outdoor fan motor; cools down to 40°F outdoors.
Electric heat
Add heat with a field-installed heater kit, sold separately. CPHEATER125A03 (5 kW), CPHEATER127A03 (7.5 kW) and CPHEATER129A03 (10 kW) fit this cabinet. Heater kits change the unit's MCA and maximum breaker size; the spec sheet lists the values for each heater.

Common questions
Is this the right replacement for my mobile home unit?
If your current system is a packaged unit outside the home with the ducts entering through the side, yes, this is the same style of equipment. Check that the duct openings line up with your existing transition before ordering.
Does it include heat?
No. It is a cooling-only unit. Add one of the heater kits above if you need heat, or choose a packaged heat pump or gas/electric unit instead.
What is the warranty?
Five-year parts limited warranty, extended to 10 years on parts with registration within 90 days of installation, plus a 1-year unit replacement limited warranty.
