K-FLEX PE LOCK 1/2" ID x 1/2" Wall Self-Seal Pipe Insulation — 6 ft Length
K-FLEX PE LOCK 7PXL048048 is a six-foot length of closed-cell polyethylene pipe insulation with a 1/2" inside diameter and a 1/2" wall. It comes pre-slit with a self-seal lap closure, so it opens over copper that is already installed and seals shut without glue or tape. That makes it a fast fit for service work, retrofits and line sets that are already brazed in place.
The black polyethylene foam has a scratch-resistant co-extruded skin that stands up to tearing and abrasion during installation. Its closed cells keep water vapor permeability below 0.05 perm-in and water vapor sorption below 0.2%, which helps control condensation on cold refrigerant and chilled water lines and cuts heat loss on hot water piping. Thermal conductivity runs from 0.27 to 0.295 Btu-in/hr-sq ft-°F at a 1.5 pcf density.
PE LOCK is rated for -200°F to +200°F and meets ASTM C1427 Type I for preformed polyolefin pipe insulation. It carries a 25/50 flame spread/smoke developed rating per ASTM E84 and UL 723 (to 1" wall) and is acceptable under NFPA 90A and 90B.
