Description
Sunstar StarGlo SG Ceramic Infrared Heater | SG10-L
The Sunstar StarGlo SG10-L is a 100,000 BTU/hr propane ceramic infrared heater. Gas burns across 3 banks of dimpled ceramic tiles that glow and throw radiant heat straight down to the floor, people and equipment, the same proven design behind the millions of ceramic heaters installed across North America since the 1950s.
It lights by direct spark with 100% gas shut-off, draws only 0.4 amps at 115 volts, and is built from aluminized steel with an aluminum reflector. The cabinet is compact enough to ship by parcel, and it can hang level or angled up to 30 degrees to aim heat into a work area, dock door or bay.
StarGlo heaters are indirect vented: combustion products stay in the building and are removed by gravity or mechanical exhaust ventilation of at least 4 CFM per 1,000 BTU/hr on natural gas (4.18 on propane). Plan on mounting it at least 15 feet above the floor and keeping 129 inches clear below, 49 inches to the sides and 65 inches to the ceiling. StarGlo heaters are for commercial and industrial buildings, not homes, and must be installed by a licensed contractor.

Frequently Asked Questions
How high should the SG10-L be mounted?
At least 15 feet above the floor. Mounting higher spreads the heat over a wider area; lower can feel too hot directly underneath.
Does it need a flue?
No. StarGlo heaters are indirect vented, so the building needs exhaust ventilation of at least 4 CFM per 1,000 BTU/hr of installed heaters, with the exhaust opening above the heaters and fresh air inlets below them.
Can it be used in a house or attached garage?
No. Sunstar rates StarGlo ceramic heaters for commercial and industrial use only.
What controls can I use?
A line voltage thermostat, a 24V thermostat with a relay kit, or a manual on/off switch.
