Description

Overview
SunStar SPS200-70-L7 is an SPS Series infrared radiant tube heater designed for commercial and industrial space heating. The heater is specified at 200 BTU/hr input and uses a push-through positive pressure combustion system. It is configured as a straight-tube layout with 70 ft straight-tube system length and supports multiple system layouts within the SPS platform. Fuel selection follows the SKU configuration for propane operation. Control selection follows the SKU configuration using two stage.

Performance
Infrared heat transfer delivers radiant energy to floors, equipment, and occupants rather than heating air first. This heat delivery method helps reduce comfort loss from stratification in high-ceiling spaces compared to convective heating approaches. The burner system uses direct spark ignition for consistent burner operation. Push-through positive pressure venting moves products of combustion through the combustion chamber as part of the system design. Reflector components are used to direct radiant energy to the target zone based on installation layout.

Controls
Control capability is determined by the SKU suffix and supports single-stage or two-stage operation depending on the selected configuration. Single-stage control operates at one input rate for straightforward thermostat control in general heating applications. Two-stage control supports high/low input operation to better match load conditions when staging is desired. The ignition system is direct spark, and electrical supply is 120 VAC as specified for the SPS/SPU platform. Thermostat integration depends on the selected control option and site wiring practices.

Comfort & Coverage
Radiant heating creates a comfort zone at floor level by warming surfaces and occupants directly. Straight-tube systems are commonly applied for complete building heating where consistent coverage is required. Mounting orientation can be horizontal or angle-mounted up to 45° based on installation needs and available accessories. Minimum recommended mounting heights vary by model size and are intended to support human comfort and uniform energy distribution. Reflectors can be adjusted to direct heat where needed, supporting coverage tuning in the occupied zone.

Use Case Fit
SPS Series heaters are intended for nonresidential applications such as warehouses, manufacturing areas, garages, and other hard-to-heat spaces. Infrared systems are well suited for facilities with frequent door cycling or air exchange where convective heat loss is a concern. Layout flexibility supports straight, L, Z, and expanded U-configuration system designs as part of the SPS platform. Fuel choice between natural gas and propane supports regional fuel availability and site standards. Selection should consider ceiling height, coverage requirements, and the desired control strategy for the space.

Value & Reliability
The SPS platform uses a totally enclosed combustion chamber design consistent with a push-through system layout. A Tube Integrity Safety System (TISS™) is included on the SPS/SPU platform to monitor the clearance above the reflector for excessive overheat conditions. The burner assembly includes a heavy-duty cast iron burner as part of the platform design. Configuration options allow matching heater length, fuel, and control to the job requirements.

Summary
SunStar SPS200-70-L7 pairs SPS Series configuration flexibility with infrared radiant heat delivery for commercial and industrial facilities. The straight-tube layout and reflector system support coverage planning for complete building heating applications. SKU-based selection enables the required fuel type and control strategy to align with job specifications and operating preferences. The push-through combustion system and direct spark ignition support consistent operation within the platform design. For contractors and facility buyers, this model supports practical specification, procurement, and installation planning across varied building layouts.
