More than four decades ago, an inventor worked out a small, clever answer to a big safety problem. People sitting in a hot tub need to switch pumps and blowers on and off, but nobody wants a live electrical switch within reach of wet hands. The answer was an air switch control, and the company built around it became Allied Innovations of Las Vegas.
Allied Innovations was founded more than 40 years ago by the inventor of an air switch control, and it grew into a major source of spa controls and replacement parts. It manufactures and warehouses in Las Vegas and elsewhere in Nevada, sells to spa and jetted tub manufacturers, distributors and service companies, and carries the Len Gordon name, long associated with spa air buttons and air switches. Its product families include Lite Touch and Power Touch buttons, the Jag air sensor and the Universal Pressure Switch series. The idea behind the air button is simple. Pressing the button on the spa deck squeezes a small pocket of air through thin tubing to an air switch at the equipment pad, safely away from the water. The pulse flips the switch, and the pump, blower or light turns on or off. No electricity ever reaches the button.
