Description
The Refco COMBI (part number 3004146) is a universal voltage condensate pump for ductless mini splits and light commercial indoor units. It mounts on the wall or ceiling next to the indoor unit, picks up condensate from the drain line and pushes it to a drain that gravity cannot reach. Mitsubishi Electric lists it in the SLZ-AF cassette submittal, and it covers systems from 6,000 up to 120,000 BTU/h, or about 10 tons.
One pump for most ductless jobs
The COMBI runs on anything from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 Hz, so the same pump works on a 115V wall unit or a 230V cassette without a second part on the truck. It can pull water up to 9.8 feet from the unit and push it up to 65 feet high, or as far as 330 feet on a level run. It draws only 8 watts and runs at about 19 dBA at one meter, which is quiet enough for bedrooms and offices.
Instead of a float, the COMBI uses a digital water level sensor with no moving parts, so there is nothing to stick or clog with slime. DIP switches let you tune pump output and sound level for each job, and a two color LED confirms the install is right and helps with diagnosis on later service calls. A built in alarm relay can shut the system down if water backs up. The pump is fully potted, rated IP44, and listed to UL 778, CSA C22.2 No. 108 and UL 2043 for plenum spaces.
Key Features
- Universal voltage: Runs on 100 to 240V, 50/60 Hz, so one pump fits both 115V and 230V units.
- High lift: Pushes water up to 65 feet high and pulls up to 9.8 feet of suction.
- No float: The digital level sensor has no moving parts to stick or clog.
- Safety alarm: Built in alarm relay can shut off cooling if the drain backs up.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the COMBI work with my system?
It is made for ductless and light commercial indoor units from 6,000 to 120,000 BTU/h. If you are not sure, send us your indoor and outdoor model numbers before ordering and we will confirm the fit.
Do I need a condensate pump?
You need one when the indoor unit cannot drain to a lower point by gravity, such as a wall unit on an inside wall, a cassette in an interior ceiling, or a unit below the nearest drain.
What comes in the box?
The pump comes with a power cable, alarm cable, sensor cable, suction tube, vent tube, a 1/4 inch discharge tube with an anti-siphon device, a spare alarm relay fuse and cable ties.
How do I wire the alarm?
Wire the alarm relay in series with the unit safety circuit or the thermostat cooling call, following the wiring diagram in the installation manual. When water rises too high the relay opens and stops cooling before the drain pan can overflow.
Can it be installed above a ceiling?
Yes. The COMBI is listed to UL 2043 for use in plenum air handling spaces.
