Schwank 10 FT 40,000 BTU Packaged U-Tube Patio Heater | Schwank P40 Packaged U-Tube | PU-P040-AN
The Schwank PU-P040-AN is a Schwank P40 Packaged U-Tube gas-fired, low-intensity infrared tube heater rated at 40,000 BTU/h on natural gas. Instead of heating the air, an infrared tube heater sends radiant energy down to the floor, equipment and people below, much like the sun. Those surfaces warm up and release heat back into the space, so the area at working level stays comfortable even in tall buildings where warm air would otherwise collect at the ceiling, and heat recovers quickly after overhead doors open.
This is a single-stage heater that fires at its full rated input whenever the thermostat calls for heat. The U-tube layout brings the exhaust end back next to the burner, so the heater covers a wide, shorter area and the venting stays at one end. The burner housing is powder-coated.

Installation Notes
- Installation by a qualified, licensed gas technician following the Schwank installation manual and local codes.
- The heater is built for natural gas; order the matching conversion kit if the site uses a different gas.
- Maintain the clearances to combustibles printed on the heater label and post a clearance sign where vehicles or storage are nearby.
