Sunstar Tube Protective Screen | 60' Sports Guard Kit, 13" Wide | 44535020-2X44535040
The Sunstar 60' Sports Guard Kit is a genuine Sunstar wire guard for 60' SIS Vacuum and SPS Positive Pressure Straight Tube Heaters, including Tough Guy and CNG models. It wraps the underside of the emitter and reflector so volleyballs, basketballs and other flying objects bounce off the guard instead of striking the hot tube, which protects both the heater and the people below it. It is the standard choice for gymnasiums, field houses, indoor arenas and recreation centers.
Sunstar builds this length from more than one guard section, so the kit ships as factory parts 44535020 + (2) 44535040. The sections join end to end to cover the full 60-foot emitter. The guard is 13 inches wide to match the SIS and SPS straight tube reflector.
Sunstar does not offer sports guards for SIU or SPU U-tube heaters, because a ball can lodge in the gap between the firing leg and exhaust leg reflectors. For U-tube layouts in gyms, plan straight tube heaters instead.
