Description
Sunstar SGL35-MG Glass Patio Heater | Propane | SGL35-L10-MG
The Sunstar SGL35-L10-MG is a 35,000 BTU/hr two-stage infrared patio heater built around a tinted ceramic glass face. Instead of a bright red tube or an open flame, guests see a low-profile brushed stainless heater with a warm glow behind the glass, and they feel radiant heat that warms people and tables directly rather than the air around them. That makes it a strong fit for restaurant patios, rooftop bars, hotel terraces, covered lanais and residential outdoor kitchens where looks matter as much as warmth.
Two-stage operation runs the heater at 24,000 BTU/hr on cool evenings and steps up to 35,000 BTU/hr when the wind picks up or the temperature drops. This N10/L10 model ships with the factory remote and a three-position High / Low / Off switch, so staff can adjust it from across the patio while the wall switch always has the final say. Direct spark ignition with a separate flame sensor means there is no standing pilot to blow out.
The marine grade version is built from Type 316 stainless steel with a brushed finish, and its heat shield, brackets and hardware are 316 stainless too, so it stands up to salt air on docks, beachfront decks and pool areas. A light tea-colored tint at the top center of the housing during operation is normal for stainless at these temperatures.
Key Features
- Two-stage 35,000 / 24,000 BTU/hr high-low fire on propane
- Tinted 4 mm ceramic glass face over a stainless burner for a clean, finished look
- Factory wireless remote (about 20 ft range) plus a High/Low/Off wall switch
- Type 316 stainless steel housing and hardware for coastal and marine sites
Heating Coverage & Mounting
Each heater covers about 8' x 8' in a breezy spot, 10' x 10' in moderate wind, and up to 12' x 12' in a well-protected area (5-10°F comfort rise). Recommended mounting heights are 8'-11' horizontal, 7'-9' at up to 30°, 6.5'-8' at 30°-60°. Radiant output drops as the heater is angled (about 13% at 30° and 50% at 60°), so mount it as close to horizontal as the space allows. Larger seating areas use multiple heaters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the N7/L7 and N10/L10 models?
Both use the same two-stage valve. N10/L10 models add the factory remote and a High/Low/Off switch; N7/L7 models are controlled by a switch, thermostat, timer or an add-on remote kit.
Can it be used indoors?
Yes. It is approved for outdoor patio use and as a high-intensity infrared heater for commercial and industrial spaces, provided indoor ventilation (140 CFM minimum) and clearances are met.
How much wind can it handle?
The sealed glass design keeps working in breezy conditions. Expect a smaller warm zone in steady wind and use side or wall mounting to block prevailing breezes.
Can I convert it to the other gas?
Yes, with the matching Sunstar SGL35 gas conversion kit installed by a qualified technician.
