The Brand Story

Velit: Battery-Powered Cooling for the Road, the Van and the Sleeper Cab

A camper van parked at a trailhead in July, a delivery truck waiting at a loading dock, a sleeper cab at a rest stop long after midnight. In each, the old way to stay cool was to keep the engine running. Velit builds air conditioners for exactly those places: compact units that run directly from a vehicle's 12, 24 or 48 volt battery bank, so the cab or cabin can stay comfortable while the engine is off.

Chapter 1 · The idea

Climate control without the generator

Velit focuses on off-grid, DC-powered climate products for vans, RVs, boats and trucks. Its catalog pairs air conditioners with diesel air heaters, so a single brand can cover both summer and winter for a vehicle that travels far from shore power. The approach is to skip the big inverter and the generator and run a DC compressor straight from the vehicle's battery system, which keeps installations simpler and lets the unit run quietly through the night.

Chapter 2 · The engineering

Rotary compressors in a low profile

Velit's rooftop units, such as the 2000R, use a DC twin-cylinder rotary compressor and are designed to drop into the standard 14-by-14-inch roof opening found on many RVs and campers. They offer economy and boost modes so owners can trade cooling power for battery life: in economy mode the 2000R is rated at roughly 250 to 300 watts. For vehicles where the roof is already crowded with solar panels or vents, Velit also builds under-bench units that sit inside a seat base or cabinet and duct cool air into the living space.

The Lineup

What Velit builds today

Velit's range includes rooftop air conditioners, under-bench air conditioners and diesel heaters for mobile use. HVAC365 carries its RV and truck air conditioners:

Rooftop mini air conditioners: 7,500 and 8,000 BTU models at 12 volts and an 8,500 BTU model at 48 volts, in white or black housings, sized for camper vans and truck cabs.
Rooftop air conditioners: larger 8,000, 10,000 and 12,000 BTU units at 12, 24 and 48 volts for RVs and sleeper cabs.
Under-bench air conditioners: 8,000 BTU at 12 volts, 9,000 BTU at 24 volts and 10,000 BTU at 48 volts, for builds where roof space is limited.

Matching voltage to the vehicle's battery system is the first decision; capacity follows the size of the space and how well it is insulated.
