Description
Product Summary
The Bohn BEL0045AS6AMAB0000 is a low profile walk-in unit cooler (evaporator) for medium-temperature boxes. It has a single fan with a 2-speed EC motor and uses air (off-cycle) defrost, and it runs on 115V single-phase power. The low profile cabinet hangs from the ceiling of a walk-in cooler and takes very little headroom, which suits small coolers and prep rooms with low ceilings.
At a 10°F TD and 25°F suction, Heatcraft rates it at 4,000 BTU/h on R-404A/R-507A and 4,600 BTU/h on R-448A, R-449A, R-407A, R-407C and R-407F. It is the HFC base model (option package B0000) and replaces Bohn's legacy ADT040.
The cabinet has hinged, removable access panels on each side, a molded plastic fan guard and panels rated NSF and UL Sanitation, a quick-removal fan and motor assembly, and a factory-installed wiring harness for the liquid line solenoid.
Key Features
- 2-speed EC fan motor: Efficient electronically commutated motor that plugs into the wiring harness for fast service.
- Low profile cabinet: Only 13-1/4 in tall to save headroom inside the walk-in.
- Air defrost, 115V: No defrost heaters to wire. Defrost happens during the compressor off-cycle.
- Easy to service: Hinged side access panels, a quick-release fan guard and motor assembly, and sweat connections that reduce leak points.
Ideal Applications
- Small walk-in coolers
- Restaurant and bar back-room coolers
- Prep rooms and low-ceiling cooler boxes
- Florist, beverage and dairy coolers
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the BEL0045AS6AMAB0000 for a cooler or a freezer?
It is for a cooler. Air defrost relies on box air above freezing to melt frost while the compressor is off, so this model is meant for medium-temperature boxes. Freezers need an electric or hot gas defrost unit cooler.
How much capacity does it have?
At a 10°F TD and 25°F suction it delivers 4,000 BTU/h on R-404A/R-507A and 4,600 BTU/h on R-448A, R-449A, R-407A, R-407C and R-407F. Pair it with a condensing unit and expansion valve selected for the same refrigerant and box temperature.
Can I use an A2L refrigerant like R-454C with it?
No. The "S" in the model number marks the HFC-refrigerant version. For A2L refrigerants, use the Y-designated A2L/HFC version of this unit cooler.
What power does it need?
A 115V single-phase, 60 Hz circuit. The fan motor draws 0.9 A (55 W), with a 1.1 A minimum circuit ampacity and 20 A maximum overcurrent protection.
What connections does it have?
A 1/2 in coil inlet, 1/2 in suction, 1/4 in external equalizer and a 3/4 in MPT drain. The expansion valve and solenoid are not included with this base model. Hanger brackets accept 3/8 in hanger rods.
