The Comfort-Aire MCT060AJC30C0PS is an MC Compact Series single-stage water-source heat pump designed for high-load commercial zones where efficiency, service visibility, and safety requirements are critical. It’s commonly used in larger office zones, institutional spaces, retail footprints, and other commercial applications tied into a water-loop system where capacity demands are high and uptime matters.
The MC Compact Series exceeds ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency standards and uses R-454B low-GWP refrigerant. The platform is built around a coaxial heat exchanger and TXV metering device for stable heat transfer and controlled refrigerant operation across typical commercial loop conditions.
The 5 ton unit has an additional safety requirement: the Refrigerant Detection System (RDS) is mandatory on this size. Along with that, the platform includes microprocessor controls with emergency shutdown, Unit Performance Sentinel monitoring, and multiple standard safety features. CXM2 communicating controls provide real-time operating condition visibility and captured fault conditions, and the external connecting port supports faster service tool connectivity.
