HCi 1-1/2" x 36" Hose Kit for Water Source Heat Pumps
Large water source heat pumps need two flexible connections to the building loop, one for the water supply and one for the return. This kit gives you both in one order: two matching HCi 1-1/2" x 36" stainless steel braided hoses (part number HC-EMM-36), so the supply and return sides are the same size, length and rating.
How it connects
One end is a fixed male NPT fitting and the other is a swivel end with a male NPT adapter. ClimateMaster and Comfort-aire belt-drive water source heat pumps use female pipe thread (FPT) water connections, so the hose threads straight into a 1-1/2" FPT unit connection and into your loop piping. The swivel end lets you snug the hose into position without twisting the braid.
Why a flexible connection
A flexible hose isolates compressor and blower vibration from the piping, takes up small misalignments between the unit and the loop, and makes the unit far easier to service or replace later. Follow the minimum bend radius in your heat pump's installation manual and keep bends away from the fittings.
