Description
The Rheem RCFY2417STANMC is a 2 ton cased n-coil evaporator coil built for R-454B systems. Its 17.5" wide cabinet lines up flush with a 17.5" Rheem gas furnace, and the multi-position case lets it sit on top of an upflow furnace, under a downflow furnace or beside a horizontal one.
The cooling half of a furnace system
Paired with an AHRI-matched Rheem condenser, this coil removes heat and humidity from the air the furnace blower moves through it. It uses a factory-installed TXV that meters refrigerant to match the load, and the standard efficiency coil surface is sized for 24,000 BTU/h systems. The cabinet is fully cased and insulated, with drain connections on more than one side to make the condensate line easy to route.
Key Features
- Refrigerant: Built for R-454B, the current low-GWP refrigerant used by Rheem.
- Fit: 17.5" wide cased cabinet that sits flush on a matching Rheem furnace.
- Metering: Factory-installed TXV for accurate refrigerant control.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which furnace does this coil fit?
Choose a Rheem gas furnace with a 17.5" wide cabinet so the coil and furnace line up flush. The furnace blower must also be rated for at least 2 tons of cooling airflow.
Which condenser should I pair it with?
Use a Rheem R-454B condenser that has an AHRI rating with this coil. Our matched system bundles already include an AHRI-certified condenser, coil and furnace.
Can I use it with an R-410A condenser?
No. This coil is designed and rated for R-454B only.
Does it need a drain pan or trap?
The coil has a built-in drain pan. Your installer will run the condensate line with a trap and, in attic or upflow installs over finished space, a secondary pan or float switch as local code requires.
