Rheem EcoNet System Control (RETST800SYS)

The RETST800SYS is the EcoNet system control for Rheem communicating heating and cooling systems. Rather than switching simple on/off signals like a conventional thermostat, it talks with the outdoor unit and air handler over the EcoNet bus. That two-way link is what lets variable-speed and modulating Rheem equipment run at the exact capacity and airflow the home needs, and it gives the installer and homeowner access to system status and fault information.

Where it is required

Several Rheem variable-speed and EcoNet-enabled systems need an EcoNet control to unlock full performance and, in some cases, to operate at all in communicating mode. HVAC365 lists this control as a required accessory on the Rheem systems that call for it.

Installation

Wire the control to the indoor and outdoor units following the EcoNet wiring diagram in the equipment installation manuals. Setup and commissioning should be done by the installing HVAC technician.
