Installation
The air handler needs its own electrical circuit sized for the blower and any electric heat, a condensate drain with a trap, and a properly sized return and filter. R-454B systems require installation by a licensed HVAC technician following Rheem's A2L procedures.
Common questions
Does this include a heat strip?
No. Electric heat strips are sold separately; use a Rheem kit listed for this model.
Can it be installed horizontally?
Multi-position models can be installed upflow, downflow or horizontal; follow the installation manual for the conversion steps for each position.
What refrigerant does it use?
R-454B. It must be paired with an R-454B outdoor unit, and it includes the refrigerant leak detection required for A2L systems where specified by Rheem.
