Description
Overview
This Mitsubishi Electric Smart Multi heat pump system pairs the MXZ-SM60NL outdoor unit with 5 MLZ-KX 1-way ceiling cassette indoor units connected through a branch box for five-zone heating and cooling. Every indoor unit uses the same mount style, so each room gets matching appearance, airflow and controls. The system runs on 208/230V, 1-phase, 60 Hz power and uses R-454B refrigerant.
What Is Included
- 1 x MXZ-SM60NL Smart Multi outdoor unit
- 5 x MLZ-KX12NL (12,000 BTU class MLZ-KX 1-way ceiling cassette)
- 1 x PAC-LMA50BC 5-port branch box
Required grille (sold separately): MLP-449WU for each cassette.
Performance
Non-ducted system ratings for the MXZ-SM60NL: up to 20 SEER2, 12 EER2 and 10.5 HSPF2, with rated capacities of 60,000 BTU/h cooling and 66,000 BTU/h heating. Connected indoor capacity for this combination totals 60,000 BTU/h class (12K + 12K + 12K + 12K + 12K). Heating operation is rated down to -13 F outdoor temperature. Final efficiency depends on the exact AHRI-matched combination.
Comfort and Noise
Each zone has its own indoor unit and controller, so occupied rooms can be conditioned independently. The INVERTER-driven compressor modulates capacity to hold set points closely and reduce on/off cycling.
Smart Features
Wi-Fi control through the Mitsubishi Electric Comfort app is available with the optional Wi-Fi interface kit. Each indoor unit supports Mitsubishi Electric wireless or wired controllers.
Use Case Fit
Ceiling cassettes recess into the ceiling for a low-profile look where ceiling cavity depth allows. Confirm room loads, line set lengths, branch box location and electrical requirements before ordering.
Value and Reliability
Bundling the outdoor unit, matched indoor units and branch boxes in one product simplifies ordering. Warranty: 7 Years Compressor & 5 Years Parts | Registration Required within 90 Days of Purchase
