The MRCOOL Universal Series 5-ton heat pump split system pairs the UHP18060-O outdoor unit with the UAH18060-O multi-position air handler as an AHRI-matched set (AHRI Reference No. 217730332). The pair is certified at 17.5 SEER2, 12 EER2 and 9.5 HSPF2, with 54,000 BTU/h of rated cooling and 55,000 BTU/h of heating at 47°F, using R-454B refrigerant.
MRCOOL rates the Universal Series for up to 100% heating output at -13°F with continuous heating operation down to -22°F, and full cooling output at 110°F with operation up to 122°F, which makes it a true all-climate heat pump. At 5°F the system still delivers 54,000 BTU/h of heat.
Outdoor unit

Backup heat and controls
Electric heat is optional and sold separately. The UAH18060-O accepts MRCOOL UHK heat kits in 10 kW, 15 kW, 20 kW sizes, which slide into the cabinet and carry their own circuit breakers.
