Description
This Cooper & Hunter dual zone system pairs the CH-R18MES-230VO 18,000 BTU multi-zone inverter heat pump with 2 Astoria wall-mounted indoor units (12K + 12K), a combination listed on Cooper & Hunter's multi-zone combination chart. Each room gets its own indoor unit and remote, and the rooms do not have to run at the same time or set point.
The outdoor unit is rated up to 25.1 SEER2 and 9.8 HSPF2 (Region IV) with non-ducted indoor units (AHRI reference 215864254 for the non-ducted family); actual efficiency varies with the indoor combination. It heats down to -13°F and cools down to -13°F outdoors, uses R-454B refrigerant and runs on 208/230V single-phase power.

Installation Notes
Each indoor unit gets its own line set and communication cable from the matching port on the outdoor unit (minimum 10 ft per zone). Line sets, wall sleeves, condensate lines and mounting hardware are sold separately. Installation, evacuation and charge adjustment must be done by a licensed HVAC technician with A2L-rated tools.

Can I swap a wall unit for a cassette or ducted unit?
Yes, within Cooper & Hunter's combination chart. The indoor units for this outdoor unit are also listed individually, so a technician can build a mixed system with ceiling cassettes, slim duct, floor console or floor/ceiling units.
Do all zones have to be installed at once?
No. Zones can be added later as long as the final combination is on the chart.
