Description

The MRCOOL GCIK-OL2-5-00 open loop installation kit supplies the flow control components for a 2- to 5-ton GeoCool geothermal heat pump running on well water (open loop). The flow meter lets the installer set and verify the rated water flow, and the solenoid valve opens the water supply only when the heat pump calls, so the well pump is not running water through the unit when it is idle.

What's Included

  • 1 × Flow Meter
  • 1 × Solenoid Valve

Compatibility & Installation

  • Compatible equipment: Water-to-air geothermal heat pumps of matching tonnage (closed-loop or open-loop rated), including the GeoStar and Coldflow geothermal units sold on HVAC365.
  • Loop design: Loop length and layout must be designed for your soil, climate and home load by a qualified geothermal designer; the kit tonnage should match the heat pump.
  • Professional installation: Install by a licensed HVAC/geothermal professional per MRCOOL instructions and local code.
