Description
The MRCOOL UAH18024-O is the 2-ton multi-position air handler for the Universal Series heat pump systems. It is designed for R-454B and pairs with the UHP18024-O outdoor unit.
The matching UAH air handler installs upflow, downflow, horizontal left or horizontal right, and its narrow cabinet matches the width of most furnaces, which makes furnace-to-heat-pump swaps easier. It runs on 115V or 208/230V with automatic voltage identification, uses an M-shaped all-aluminum coil, a constant-airflow ECM blower and an electronic expansion valve, and it has a built-in refrigerant leak sensor for R-454B. It works with any standard 24V thermostat.

Rated airflow is 824/759.3/694.5/629.8/N/A (Turbo/H/M/L/Si). Without electric heat the air handler draws 5.5/3.5 A (115V / 208-230V; without heat kit) minimum circuit ampacity with 15 A (without heat kit) maximum overcurrent protection. It takes a 12 x 20 x 1 in filter, uses 3/8 in liquid and 3/4 in suction connections, measures 14.49 x 21.50 x 49.72 in and weighs 123.02 lbs.
Electric heat
Supplemental and emergency heat is added with an MRCOOL UHK heat kit, sold separately. This size accepts the 5 kW, 8 kW, 10 kW, 15 kW kits, which slide into the cabinet and bring their own circuit breakers.
