Description

The MRCOOL MVP-48-HP-MUAH-230A00-O is the 4-ton multi-position air handler for the VersaPro 2nd Gen and Hyper Heat Central Ducted 2nd Gen heat pump systems. It is designed for R-454B and pairs with the MVP-48-HP-C-230A00-O or CENTRAL-48-HP-C-230B00-O outdoor units.

The matching MUAH air handler installs upflow, downflow, horizontal left or horizontal right. Its ECM blower adjusts itself to hold airflow steady as the filter loads up, the blower slides out for service, and the filter rack has a magnetic cover so changing filters takes seconds. An electronic expansion valve meters the refrigerant, and an MRCOOL smart thermostat comes in the box along with a 24V adapter for a standard wall thermostat.

Airflow, electrical and size

Rated airflow is 1600.99 / 1471.50 / 1283.15 / 1094.80 CFM (Turbo/Hi/Mi/Lo). Without electric heat the air handler draws 115V: 14.5A; 208/230V: 11.0A minimum circuit ampacity with 15 A maximum overcurrent protection. It takes a 23 x 20 x 1 in filter, uses 3/8 in liquid and 3/4 in suction connections, measures 24.49 x 21.02 x 52.99 in and weighs 162.92 lbs.

Electric heat

Supplemental and emergency heat is added with an MRCOOL MVPHK heat kit, sold separately. This size accepts the 8 kW, 10 kW, 15 kW, 20 kW kits, which slide into the cabinet and bring their own circuit breakers.
