Description
Product Summary
The NAVAC NVR2 is the updated version of NAVAC's valve core removal tool and the direct replacement for the discontinued NVR1. It lets you pull, swap and reinstall Schrader valve cores while the system stays sealed, so you never lose charge or break vacuum to service a core. With the core out of the way, refrigerant and air move through the full bore of the service port instead of squeezing past the core and depressor, which is where most of the time goes on a slow recovery or a stubborn evacuation.
One body covers both common port sizes: the 1/4" flare ports found on most split systems and package units, and the 5/16" flare ports used on R410A mini splits. NAVAC kept what made the original popular and reworked the build: the NVR2 has a brass body, a metal handle, heavier O-rings for hard daily use, and a cleaner modern finish. Three replacement O-rings come in the package, so the seal can be refreshed in the field instead of retiring the tool.
Built for High-Pressure Systems and Deep Vacuum
The NVR2 is designed for high-pressure refrigerants including R410A and is vacuum rated to 20 microns. That means it can stay connected to the port through a full evacuation without becoming the leak point that keeps your micron gauge from settling. Pair it with a large-diameter vacuum hose and a micron gauge on the far side of the tool and you will see a noticeable drop in pull-down time compared with evacuating through an installed core.
Where It Earns Its Keep
Technicians reach for the NVR2 on refrigerant recovery, on evacuations of new installs and repaired systems, and any time a valve core is leaking, bent or damaged and needs to be replaced without recovering the whole charge. It is just as useful on a residential split as it is on a ductless mini split or a light commercial rooftop unit with standard Schrader ports.
What's Included
Each package contains one NAVAC NVR2 2-in-1 valve core removal tool and three replacement O-rings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the NVR2 replace the NVR1?
Yes. NAVAC has discontinued the NVR1 and moved to the NVR2. It covers the same 1/4" and 5/16" flare port sizes with a metal handle, heavier O-rings and spare O-rings in the box.
Will it work on R410A mini splits?
Yes. The 5/16" side fits the service ports used on R410A mini splits, and the tool is designed for high-pressure refrigerants including R410A.
Can I leave it on during evacuation?
Yes. The NVR2 is vacuum rated to 20 microns, so it can stay on the port for the entire evacuation and while you reinstall the core under vacuum.
Why does removing the core speed things up?
An installed valve core and depressor block much of the port opening. Taking the core out opens the full bore, which raises flow for both recovery and evacuation.
