Rheem 6 Ton Commercial Heat Pump Package Unit (RHPCYB072A)

The Rheem RHPCYB072A is a Commercial Classic Series packaged heat pump for 208/230V three-phase light commercial buildings. The compressor, both coils and the indoor blower are in one cabinet, so the unit sits on a roof curb or a ground pad and connects to the building's ductwork. The airflow converts between downflow and horizontal side flow in the field.

This model ships with the high-static, direct-drive constant torque ECM blower (factory configuration RHPCYB072ACU000AAAA0), which suits longer duct runs and roof curb installs with higher external static pressure.

Cabinet and Airflow

  • Airflow: 2,400 CFM nominal, 1.2 HP direct-drive ECM blower
  • Configuration: convertible, vertical downflow or horizontal side flow
  • Coils: MicroChannel evaporator and condenser, TXV metering
  • Service features: PlusOne ServiceSmart package with Qwik-Slide blower, Qwik-Change filter rack and Qwik-Clean drain pan; overflow condensate sensor; dual 7-segment LED diagnostics; external lockable gauge ports
  • Controls: standard Modbus interface
  • Base: forkable base rails for lifting and rigging

Sizing and Installation

Size the unit with a Manual J load calculation (or a commercial load calculation for the building). Installation requires a licensed HVAC contractor: a roof curb or level pad, three-phase power with a disconnect, duct connections and a refrigerant system check at startup. Electric heat, economizers and curb adapters are field-installed accessories ordered separately.

Either. The supply and return openings convert in the field.
